Re: Remote Sensing C
I've seen questions about the eye on Optics, never Remote Sensing.

I've seen questions like: which does the eye has more of, cone cells or rod cells? and does it see more shades of grey or colors?zyzzyva98 wrote:I've seen questions about the eye on Optics, never Remote Sensing.
and other things I can't recall right now.

For Satellites definitely now the A Train (Aura, Aquas, Terra, etc.) as well.greywolfst1 wrote:For satellites you should definitely know MODIS and LandSat. SeaWIFS is also useful along with a few others. You can calculate area by using a ruler (you can bring one) and subdividing your image into known polygons which you can then determine area from.

Re: Remote Sensing C
Hey, just wondering, what are the formats of you guys' tests and what things show up a lot?
I've only done this event at one tournament so far and it had a lot of questions like "what is the scale in this picture" and "what is the area of the swath" and questions on satellite bands.

That sounds about right for me for the past 2 years. And also "what's happening in this picture?"The Eviscerator wrote:Hey, just wondering, what are the formats of you guys' tests and what things show up a lot?

Re: Remote Sensing C
I've gotten questions like IDing structures in the image, what type of image (false color, different TM bands), and comparing images taken at different times (and what happened in the image taken later)The Eviscerator wrote:Hey, just wondering, what are the formats of you guys' tests and what things show up a lot?

Re: Remote Sensing C
I've also seen questions on weather phenomena (not too much, just a question or two on hurricanes). I've also seen questions on specific satellites, like LandSat (I don't really know the details on the questions though, that was my partner's domain, so he did all those questions).
And you know, it's funny that I have no idea what people are talking about in this thread, and I still managed 3rd at Nats. That really was a bad test that year if my partner and I could get 3rd with no idea what we were doing (he did know his stuff better than I knew mine, though).

Re: Remote Sensing C
I haven't read through the entire forum, so forgive me if this is redundant.
Besides Nebraska's Remote tests, has anyone had NDVI show up on a test? I'm nervous that it will appear on the Nationals test, and I'll have no clue what it means.
