Re: Indiana 2011
@ Azukeri, do you know the answer to the Fossils question where there is an Astraeospongia (I'm pretty sure) and you were asked to write down its common name?
EDIT: I can't seem to find the common name anywhere.
EDIT 2: (not related to the post but...) Great job Northridge and Bloomington South (and everyone else at state last weekend)! Good luck at nationals!

Re: Indiana 2011
I'm fairly certain the answer to that question is "star sponge" or something similar.

Re: Indiana 2011
Astraeospongia are basket sponges. When I searched for "star sponge" I did find a few references to Astraeospongia as such, also. Really, even in biology research groups/college classes, the COMMON name for sponges is usually just "sponge." If people are bothering to differentiate sponge species I usually hear some sort of scientific name.

Re: Indiana 2011
I just looked at the score sheet. There is no math errors or anything. Northridge had 123.
