Re: Duration
what is a wright bat? I can imagine it must be pretty strange, but ornithopters didn't do to well either.

Re: Duration
We used an 8 gram wright bat last year at nats which gave us 30+ secs and was good for 6th place with the bonus for one rotor.

its basically a single rotor helicopter with 'wings' on it so when it comes down its 'supposed' to float like paper. (it doesnt)

Well yeah obviously . Pretty much everyone uses the parlor copter and its just going to come down to who has the best rotor angles and the right rubber thickness. I doubt we are going to see too many innovative designs this year but who knows...mrsteven wrote:lol ok well that was while it was a trial, i think its become a bit more competitive now...sj wrote:We used an 8 gram wright bat last year at nats which gave us 30+ secs and was good for 6th place with the bonus for one rotor.

Re: Duration
idk. some people had custom designs that were fairly successful and I can see them doing very well with more testingsj wrote:Well yeah obviously . Re: Duration
At illinois state last year, i did a last minute wright bat that got 45 seconds, no joke. Double looped 3/32, went all the way to the ceiling of the Armory.
