Maybe some sort of powdered drink mix like Kool Aid. Fine-grain salt might work or salt water if you can filter out the salt with a coffee filter or some other form of filter. How about soda?

Awesome aquifers is a very epic event. Can anyone help me out with rule clarification? Are we allowed to bring wells with pre-attached well screens?

Our proctors didn't check our boxes at all, so I don't think that would be an issue. Just curious, what are you using for your well/well screen?

We are using very tiny wire mesh screens, that are small enough to not let sand pass through. I'm not sure where my partner found the stuff but it really helps

Oh sorry I only saw well screen not well, For our well we have really thin and rigid plastic tubing.

Thanks. States is on Saturday. Are you sure that coffee filters filter Kool-Aid?

Probably not. The Kool Aid dissolves quite well into the water. Any other ideas?

I think more than a coffee filter has to be used to filter out Kool-aid, seeing as it is a solution (the powder is dissolved in the water). However, I am not 100% sure of this, sorry.

With the packages that the Groundwater foundation sells, among it is a kit that contains food coloring and activated carbon. In the instruction manual, it says to filter out the food coloring using a combination of activated carbon and a coffee filter. In the Kool-aid powder is food-coloring, so at the very least, I doubt that the food coloring can be filtered out using only a coffee filter.

They don't. You need to mix the water with the food coloring in it with some activated charcoal and then filter it out with the coffee filter. You don't wanna try to get the food coloring out with just a coffee filter in front of the judges.
