Oh, right! Well, I assumed we just had to find the carrying capacity of the first population, because it said that it didn't interact directly or indirectly with the second population. So we just read the graph, then multiplied it by 2 because the graph only counted one of the sexes (I think it was males). I can't remember what number that resulted in, but it was one of the choices so we went with that.gyourkoshaven wrote:There were the 3 logistic growth curves at the top of the page, and it asked how many individuals of a certain population could co-exsist with a stable 135 of another population (135 was the second species' carrying capacity) in the same lab space. I said 900, because it appeared to be the carrying capacity of the first species, but the question didn't really make sense in its wording.

Wow! I didn't see that it was only one of the sexes. So it was 1800?amerikestrel wrote:Oh, right! Yeah, if that was the 4th option. At least, that's what we went with. I don't know if it was what they were looking for or not.gyourkoshaven wrote:Wow! I didn't see that it was only one of the sexes. Re: Ecology B/C
We got 2nd and we were the first ones out. It took us about 8 minutes. He didn't start til about 5 minutes after he was supposed to and we left at like 12:13. I don't know if someone could finish much quicker than that so I'm thinking we missed one unless some people were speedy thinkers that day lol.

Re: Ecology B/C
Don't be too sad - its basically the ecology of estuaries, with a little ID and salinometer-building thrown in.tweety wrote:That stinks........maybe I'll do that.

Re: Ecology B/C
Its not that difficult - we built a crude one in chemistry last year. The only downside is that everyone will be basically building the same exact one..paleonaps wrote:But I don't wanna build a salinometer...
