Goodness gracious, that nationals test. I was somewhat disappointed with our placing. And really surprised there was no muscle ID and a question asking us to label parts of the pituitary... I've never seen a question ask about parts of a gland before.

It's up on here.

But it's excretory, respiratory, and digestive. Tentatively.

I hate to double post, but did anyone take the nationals test? What did you guys think of it? I'm really curious; I was hoping to get top 20. :(

Excretory? Really? That's kind of... strange...

hm, can anybody find an in-depth diagram of the pituitary gland that was like the one presented on the nats test? I can't seem to find a good diagram.

These were the closest two I could find with a quick Google search:

A lot of textbooks don't have it; I know it was a tiebreaker question, but I have never seen a question asking parts of the gland beyond cortex vs. medulla. It was slightly unnerving.

So next year Div B will have respiratory and digestive (tentatively)? They already had respiratory this year. And anyway, how do you know?

Anyway, I think that the Soinc.org website will be the best resource when they release the events and other things on the website.
