I know on average Texas has between 4-7 invites and more for division B than C.
Invites are usually open to almost any school, so even if you live in Texas (just an example) say El Paso, and the Invites in New Mexico (if they have any) or something like that, were closer, then your school can go out of state for an invite. I know we have an invite in Dallas that has teams from Kansas and Louisiana as well.
No matter what the experiment's result, there will always be someone eager to:(a) misinterpret it(b) fake it, or (c) believe it supports his own pet theory.

Yeah, the invite we host in PA often has people come from four or five different states. (we almost had a team come from Texas, but they had budget issues). And we attend invites in PA, NY, and Ohio. They are excellent, because the invites we go to are much more competitive than our Regional competition, so we get a better idea of what needs to be done to prepare for States.

My invitationals is about15 teams mainly from Illinois, but i think there's a team or two from Indiana. Not sure. But we do pretty good every time (okay, first place every time, and so, yeah).....But its technically not an invitation, because its the West Central Conference, and other people run the events besides people from my school, but thats how my coach picks the people for the team. we dont do any other invitationals, since he wants us to focus on regionals and state, so yeah. :)
GUESS WHAT???? I GOTS 1ST PLACE IN ALL MY EVENTS AT CONFERENCE!!!!

We don't do a B div invite, but I think previously we have allowed our junior high team to take the tests and participate in the comparable events at our C div invite, so they get experience and can practice before regionals in a competition environment. However, they don't actually take any medals- it is exclusively a practice thing.

Yeah, most invites are C-div only. It might be worth asking a few local invite hosts if you can participate just for experience, not for the actual competition. They might allow you to, especially if your teams have a close relationship. Or see if you or your C team can host an invite!

Some invites are listed here. The list will (most likely) be updated as more invitationals will be scheduled.
