Re: Bottle Rocket B
I don't see anything in the rules requiring that (Hopefully, somebody else can confirm this.), but it would be helpful in determining the best amount of water to use at the competition.Ben+Chris wrote:Do you need to keep a log of the lauches????

Re: Bottle Rocket B
Your design is one factor as to how much water should be used. At our 1st competition we were told that 50% water was too much.Ben+Chris wrote:How much water should be used in 1 liter bottle rocket?
Yes, logs can help determine the optimum amount of water to use. Although keep in mind that there are some factors that affect the flight of the rocket (wind, etc.) so don't rely on it completely.space scientist wrote:I don't see anything in the rules requiring that (Hopefully, somebody else can confirm this.), but it would be helpful in determining the best amount of water to use at the competition.Ben+Chris wrote:Do you need to keep a log of the lauches????

Re: Bottle Rocket B
last year I kept logs to compare how my rockets were doing on certian days specificaly because then the weather is about the same each trial and I could see how consistent they are, times compared to the other rockets, etc. They are not required by I do recommend keeping track of everything (times, wind speed, etc)
This has been answered before. Please read the thread to see if the question has been answered. But anyways, I presonally think that around 325-425 mL would be the best depending on your rocket. Last year I used 800 mL.Ben+Chris wrote:How much water should be used in 1 liter bottle rocket?

You should try and make a design so that it floats down like a leaf. Ours did a nose dive too and we are going to make another, our time was 5.35 sec.

Yes, that is what I am doing.Ben+Chris wrote:http://www.scioly.org/phpBB3/posting.ph ... 9&p=185835#skillfullparrot7 wrote:I launched mine once already, and it went really high, but came down in a nosedive. It was still about 7 seconds, so I can't wait to see how it does when fixed.
