OHHHH YEAH I REMEMBER!! They have those at nats every year. They also had it this year at Wright State Invitational.ckssv07 wrote:It is when there is a container of sand, and then you pull a lever and the sand gets poured into the bucket, opposed to scooping from one bucket to another.drifter601 wrote:what's auto filler?thsom wrote:IL had auto filler

Yes, auto fillers are MUCH more beneficial. Although, I've been scared every time at nats for using one because it's a different method and style the weight is poured on than what I've been doing the whole year. But in the end, I believe auto fillers yield better results.

That number sounds quite reasonable.ckssv07 wrote:I have tested a lot, and on average, hand scoop yields about 70% the score of an auto.
Thanks for sharing the data.

I agree. I have a hand scooper, and the boomilever typically breaks right when I begin pouring faster, dumping as much sand in as I can at a reasonable pace.Balsa Man wrote:That number sounds quite reasonable.ckssv07 wrote:I have tested a lot, and on average, hand scoop yields about 70% the score of an auto.

An unrelated question: do you have to use the washer? I just wanted to make sure, because my loading block does not fit a 3/4" Outer Diameter washer.

You don't, but the washer lessens the pressure on the wood at the loading block.

Oh sorry, I meant the attachment base, not the loading block.retired1 wrote:The washer should go on the top of the wood loading block to keep the eye bolt from indenting the block as the contest goes on.
The space between my tension members doesn't fit the 3/4" O.D. washer, but I haven't used the washer in any of my other competitions.

As did I... Whoops. Yeah, it's not required at the base, but it really helps.
