Just out of curiousity...is there a list of teams that have already signed up for us to see?

No, there isn't, and I'm hesitant to release the list prematurely for various reasons. I do not anticipate posting such a list until around Thanksgiving so that those teams can be rest assured that they're all set.sciencegreek wrote:Just out of curiousity...is there a list of teams that have already signed up for us to see?
I will say, though, that we have 25 teams registered already.

I'm so excited! In CT, there are only 2 teams really competing for first. My school went to an invitational last year that was a joke. I'm glad to have some more competition this year before we face off at States.

Based on the teams registered so far, I guarantee that our invitational and the competition present will not be a jokebookworm2110 wrote:I'm so excited! Re: Yale University (YUSO) Invitational 2014
Don't know if you heard from anyone from Ward Melville yet, we're still trying to decide if we're going. Looks like we are though, but we're trying to figure out transportation.
Any advice? We were thinking of taking the ferry to Bridgeport and getting a bus, is that feasible to do the morning of the tournament? We'd rather not spend the money to stay overnight and it would probably be cheaper and faster than driving all the way around. Thoughts?
Also, not sure if you mentioned it already, but is there a limit to the number of teams a school can bring? WM might bring a couple of teams.

I don't know anything about the ferry, but if it's reliable in terms of schedule and speed at ~5 am, getting to Bridgeport to board a booked bus to the Have is reasonable. The bus leg of this route would take ~40 minutes MAX. Certainly faster than the ~3.5-hour drive around.
My rec would actually be for the kids to take public transportation: ferry to Bridgeport, MNR into New Haven (<$10 each). Parents/coaches can drive up the physical items the night before. Hotels rooms in New Haven downtown can be pricey, but a room split between 4 kids would be ~$40 each. Bulk bookings are surely cheaper. Buses can get pretty pricey too when you're booking for long periods of time.
Limit of 2 teams, possibility of a third if I can accommodate it in November.

We're going to end up closing within the next two weeks by my estimate.

I went ahead and did it:

Many more teams are signed up, but the list is only of those who have completed payment, so there will be more popping up as I receive checks. (Snail mail is snail.)

Re: Yale University (YUSO) Invitational 2014
ONLY 5 spots are left!! The registration form will literally close immediately after I receive email confirmation that the 45th team has registered.
No ifs, ands, or buts after the form has been shut down!
