When does your team start practicing?

My team doesn't start practicing until the beginning of January, and after this year, my head coach is considering trying to do something to maybe start a bit earlier. This is mainly because over the past 5 years or so competition at nationals has absolutely skyrocketed, and it's almost impossible to be extremely successful at nationals starting so late.

So, when do some other teams start practicing?

My team usually starts around the end of September/beginning of October.

Mid-October. We stop practicing the week before state.

January-Feburary is when we start, and we end in May at Nationals. Might explain why we got 45th...

We technically start in November, but normally things aren't in full swing until December.

Our first meeting is usually in September, but most people don't get event assignments until a bit later. Some of us work on events over the summer though.

We have our first meeting at the end of September, and then due to a typically huge turnout, we take quite a while to get everything organized and event assignments/team placements take place in mid to late november. It isn't until December that things get into full swing with saturday practices and everything. Of course, the A Team members are working all year round, including over the summer

Most of the people I know on the A teams will be done with regionals and state preparation after the end of the summer in their study events, just spending the rest of the year preparing for nats.
