Only the event supervisor or tournament head can answer that.

Same thing, ask the event supervisor or tournament director. They'll decide the process for those things.

In my region, you always sign up for building events. Then you report at the time you signed up for to compete. I'd imagine that's the way it is in most places.

Uh Maybe that's the best option for you but I think that a parachute in the nose cone is best, you just have to wieght the nose cone correctly so it falls off and pulls out the parachute. :|

Which system to use really depends on what you are looking for in your rocket. If you want an easy to implement system that is extremely reliable, drape the parachute on the outside. If you want a more complex system that will eventually work better but will take much more time and effort, put the parachute on the inside.

In our team's early trials this year, some of our rocket people draped the parachute on the outside, and very quickly had a rocket that deployed every time and got all the bonuses.

Seems like you'd have to have a small parachute to do that.

And you'd really increase drag.

Seems like it could get tangled too.

Both of andrewwski's observations are right.
We've tried draping it outside and it gets horribly tangled and/or causes drag on the way UP :(
Both result in failed parachute deployment.

i wasn't saying that you should put the parachute on the outside of the rocket nose cone, but instead between the pressurized bottle and the nose cone. resting on the bottle, protected by the nose cone, but not shoved up into the nose cone.
anything that happens happens.

anything that, in happening causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen.

anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again.

it doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though.

I got fourth with 23 seconds (bonuses included). Thats not very good but I was modifying it the day before so what do you expect? Actually, I consider myself lucky because after we used the launcher the team after us (E.C. I believe) couldn't use it because the launcher froze up. They didn't get a chance to launch that day but they are going to State so they will have a chance to launch there. As a result of that they didn't count Egg O Naut toward the team score.
