1. Brachiopoda > Articulata > Rhynchonellata > Athyridida > Athyrididae > Composita
2. Naturally smooth shell, plus weathering polishes the surface (sand and water)
3. Devonian - Permian
4. Marine
5. Benthic sessile filter feeder

Correct, except for number two,
This way, the shell can handle more turbulent currents.

Well not sure what your looking for but the specific gravities, hardness, color, chemical formula, etc

I would say the main difference is the composition like how one is made of carbonate and other is a silicate, but there are many other things like distinct differences in the crystal shape and color and texture/hardness.
