Sure, Kraemer (and others) have a good shot of beating Muscatel; likewise, Kennedy has had a good shot a beating Churchill for the last three years, but they have yet to actually do so. I just made my best guesses about who would go.

Really? The results I've seen from this year are showing Weber significantly weaker than last year.

I don't necessarily disagree with the FSA final placement. However, I think you give Dodgen and Auburn too much credit. Of the 4 AL/GA/TN powerhouse teams, Bearden has consistently out preformed Auburn, Dodgen and FSA all season.

I feel like Beckendorff will make it into the top 5. As far as my state, we still haven't had state yet, so I'm not sure about how Pembroke is doing, but I do think that Ladue and Pembroke will be closer in rankings.

Oh yeah, forgot about Bearden; I'm not used to them being so good. I suppose I could have put Bearden at 17th-18th, and dropped Auburn and Dodgen to 19th-20th.

I agree. Although Beckendorff may be slightly worse this year, there are still a lot of talented and hard working people there. A lot of the seventh and eighth graders there are the smartest Beckendorff has ever seen, and many of the people on last year's team are still there. The program is still very much alive. Whether or not they do well at nationals is dependent on whether they choose to work hard enough and believe in themselves

It's always going to be tough to rank Beckendorff because of the lack of competition they face in Texas B Division, but you always know they're going to be a threat to win it all. I'm certain they'll be top 5

I don't feel comfortable ranking Meads Mill outside the top 10; this is only a few years after they came extremely close to winning nationals. In 2014 at UCF, they almost certainly would have beat us (Beckendorff) if a few things had gone their way.

Yeah, c'mon Unome, you'll put Meads Mill in twice before you give some love to Lakeshore?

Adi, I don't think you are seeing what Unome sees: in 2013 and 2014, Meads Mill had 70 and 74 points at states. Last year, they had nearly 150. Based upon invitational and regional results, they seem to be doing relatively similar to last year. Although things are a bit of a toss up being so far from nats, I don't think 11th is too farfetched.

That's a good point. After looking at the past MI state results (which I didn't do initially) Unome's ranking makes a lot more sense

However, is it possible that other teams in MI have just been getting stronger? I've heard Lakeshore has only been getting better and better over the past few years. For example, this year, Beckendorff's getting scores in the 20-40s, which is about half of what the first place at nationals team got (and that team also lost state to Riverwood, 63 to 64). That doesn't mean the national winning team was only half as good; rather, it just means that the competition was a lot tougher back then.
