Did that already happen? (do you have results? Or even a date for the tournament? Because none of those are on the wiki)fatcamels wrote:Anyone go to Southland Invitational?

Re: Kansas 2016
This is the first year where nobody currently competing for Olathe North was on the original ON team to make nationals (in 2012). It's also the last year where my senior class, who initially led the team to nationals, has any connections to the current team. Proud that they're able to keep the run going without us. Hopefully they can bounce back from a rough year at nats last year and bring home some medals.
That said, I do miss the extreme competition that existed in-state in my high school days. Big shoutout to Tonganoxie for roaring into second; I'd love to see more teams breakout like that. (But I'm totally fine in North keeps winning.)

Re: Kansas 2016
The score sheet for division C is quite interesting. Here are some quick calculations I made from the tentative scoresheet.
As it stands:
North 108
Tonganoxie 111
Manhattan 118
If you drop the worst two events:
North *"84" (12,12)
Tonganoxie *"83" (14,14)
Manhattan *"89" (14,15)
Medal counts (Actual, not small/large school; 1st/2nd/3rd):
North 4/3/4
Tonganoxie 5/4/2
Manhattan 4/5/1
Top 5 count:
North 16
Tonganoxie 15
Manhattan 17
Sum of lowest 5:
North *"50"
Tonganoxie *"54"
Manhattan *"58"
It seems to me that it was quite close at all stages, but that North took the lead through more consistent placing.
Nota bene: *"" denotes speculative scores calculated via alternative methods.
