Re: LET`S POST YOUR REGIONAL SUCCESS
Yay, time to hijack this thread.
Alright, I feel I owe the Gelinas (and Murphy) a formal apology for the statement made here;
Honestly I guess I should watch my words more, since on a forum you get more laid back than face-to-face. Since one of the Gelinas SciO members themselves was pretty open about how much they were funded etc. (also, I'm not going to mention names, because this issue has already been blown way out of proportion. Please don't try to hunt the Gelinas member in question down either >_<) I assumed that such an issue was not going to be controversial, but from the way the coach at Murphy put it today, it seems as if the topic is taboo. I didn't know that, and I'm really, really sorry for that comment. Really. D: My original intent for the post was almost boasting because (no I'm not making this up! D: ) I'm proud of Gelinas and their SciO-related accomplishments. After all, we come from the same elementary schools and will merge again in Melville.
Now all you Gelinas people can kick my butt for saying such a stupid thing. And seriously, no more beating the dead horse anymore. The subject is done; I'm sincerely sorry for any offense taken by Gelinas kids. If this helps, I wasn't forced to make an apology by any of my coaches or anything like that. <.< Really, I'm just a stupid seventh grader who drags out her posts too much.
Alright, I feel I owe the Gelinas (and Murphy) a formal apology for the statement made here;
it provoked a lot of drama on the forums and a little bit in school, but like I said earlier, I didn't mean that the sole reason Gelinas performs well is because they are funded. This probably won't do me any good, but I think it would be a lie to say that funding has nothing whatsoever to do with a team's success. It has a small impact on building events, Robo-Cross and SumoBots quite a bit, but in the end how well a SciO team does at competitions is determined by the coaches' and student's devotion and how well they know their events.that school's SciO team is funded like crazy

If the human mind was simple enough to understand, we'd be too simple to understand it.

It'shokay, Lina
We know (or at least I do) that you would try to offend people like that, especially if you're friends with some people in Gelinas. I think our coach was actually a little bit disappointed with our donations at the beginning of SciO this year xD
