Just like the PA list last year having "snakehead"
Not that bad. I looked up Phragmites on Wikipedia and the page only lists 4 species (of which common Reed is the only one with a page).

I just re-checked and it says "Snakehead(all species)" which they copy/pasted from a page of the PA fish and wildlife commision website. It adds up to 37 species... We just went with Northern Snakehead.

Oh, forgot to mention, if you haven't seen the updated schedules for states, I'd take a look at them (disease and experimental both have two extra timeslots with a 10-team capacity, hovercraft is now 6 timeslots with 10-team capacity).

Portage went pretty good overall. Hopefully in the future they can get more teams, this year they only had 12. I can't remember overall final places but Portage Central was first. Hopefully events like this will help boost the teams of Southwestern Michigan.

I thought they did a good job, too. Especially for a first invite with 12 teams. All the events ran. There were a couple of glitches, one of which was my fault. (I can't seem to get the little embarrassed face here.) And not only boost the teams of SW Michigan, but give everyone the opportunity for competition. I think this is the first Michigan invite in December.
I thought having the team picture taken was a nice bonus.

The top places were:
1. Portage Central Gold
2. West Ottawa
3. Haslett Blue
4. Hastings Gold
5. Portage Northern Brown
tie 6. Haslett Gold & Hastings Blue

How hard are the Eastside and Frankenmuth invitationals, usually?

Frankenmuth usually gets some solid teams (from what's on the wiki it looks like Stevenson and Troy regularly attend, and DCD has for the past couple of years).

No clue about Eastside though. I've never been able to find results from it.

Eastside Invitational Results:

1. Stevenson
2. Troy Black
3. Detroit Country Day Blue
4. Canton Red
5. Eisenhower
6. International Academy West Blue
7. Marine City Black
8. Northville

This is usually one of the more competitive invitationals in Michigan but the competition was a good bit less this year as Centerville (OH), International Academy Central and Northville all went to the Wright State Invitational. I think Northville sent their A team to Wright State and the B team to Eastside. Technically Troy's White team placed 5th, but only one trophy was allowed per school.

Is that Stevenson (IL) or Stevenson (MI)?

Also what's the current general feeling about Baker? They've been pretty impressive at invitationals, do they have a chance at defeating Lakeshore? Or do they tend to do well at invites and then fall just short?
