Discussion for the 2018 National Tournament, to be held at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado on May 18-19, 2018.

Has anyone looked at the national schedule?

Rocks and dynamic are in the same block, and so are remote sensing and ecology. These are events with a lot of overlap and I'm guessing quite a few people will have event conflicts if this becomes final :?: :?: Hopefully Ohio pulls a rebel and changes it up :shock:

Also, Fermi Questions is in the impound timeslot, which makes no sense considering it's one of the easiest events to grade.

Outside of that, the schedule is rather disastrous to my team - A&P/Dynamic, Astro/Microbes, ExpD/Forensics, MatSci/WIDI... (this is why I push self-scheduling so much)

Even if Ohio does change it up then the teams leaving Ohio will still have issues.

I agree that Fermi doesn't seem to make much sense in the impound slot. Perhaps they are concerned about the questions leaking and therefore put everyone at the same time...? GameOn would be challenging logistically as large tournaments (including nationals) would need many computers to support all of those teams. I agree that XPD makes more sense though.

I certainly scratch my head when it comes to Fermi of all events running during impound while keep Dynamic and R&M together.

I have run Exp D and I loved having all day to grade the labs and having them all at the same time. But finding the space to run this can be difficult and the need for 3 to 6 times the amount of equipment certainly limits some of the options in materials I provided. At least Exp D only conflicts with one other event.
