Vermont is sending a C champion this year, but no B champion.

I've never made predictions for nats before but maybe I'll take a stab this year! I'm also a busy college student that doesn't have time to overanalyze results besides the ones I've seen around a lot, so they may also be extremely off

1. Troy
2. Harriton
3. [OH 1]
4. [TX 1]
5. [OH 2]
6. [TX 2]
7. Mounds View
8. Mira Loma
9. Northville
10. IL Stevenson
11. Columbia
12. Acton Boxborough
13. New Trier
14. Fayetteville-Manlius
15. Carmel
16. WWPN
17. [PA 2]
18. Ladue
19. Chattahoochee
20. Camas (hype!)

I currently think [OH 1] and [OH 2] will be Solon and Mason, in either order, [TX 1] and [TX 2] will be LASA and Seven Lakes, in either order, and PA 2 will be Rustin. If either [OH 1] or [OH 2] is Mentor, then drop place to 16th and bump everyone else up one.

Well, hey, it puts Carmel in position win the DuPont Enterprise Award this year! We missed it by one point to Fossil Ridge when I went in 2016 >.< if only cell bio and forensics didn't conflict with each other...

I guess the funny thing is that sometimes the DuPont Enterprise Award is hard to predict bc you gotta predict which new team is gonna be the highest one to miss the top 10...

[will probably also post updated predictions when Nats gets closer]

Any updates to this list considering the relatively recent release of the national team numbers?

IDK anything about the national scene but I wanted to take a stab at it because why not.
1.Troy
2.Solon
3.Mounds view
4. Mason
5. LASA
6. Harrison
7. Stevenson
8. Mira loma
9. Acton-Boxborough
10.New trier
11.WWP-north
12. Northville
13. Grand haven
14. New trier
15. Conestoga
16.Enloe
17. Columbia
18. Brookwood
19. Carmel
20. Hooch

Someone said something about one Texas team? I pretty much just ranked the teams I remember hearing at nats award ceremonies higher or teams that I had previously had contact with. No real methodology

Um yeah. No way Mounds View will be that high or Harriton that low. I think Brookwood tends to underperform at nats?

Harriton doing that badly is unlikely, but I wouldn't rule out Mounds View. Brookwood is unpredictable but 18th seems fair to me.

I don't see Harriton placing worse than fourth. I also think Mounds View has a solid chance of getting top 6 this year; they seem quite strong.

Note sure about Mason being that low. Going off MIT performance, I'd definitely switch Solon and Mason. I have my doubts regarding Mira Loma being that high given their subpar performance this year at Golden Gate, though I could see them still within the top 10.

I agree with Mason being top 10 but then there is the Nats "curse" that many new teams seem to have difficulty overcoming. But based on their MIT performance they may be an exception.

I wouldn't consider 4th to be low for Mason. It'd still be their first time at nationals, and first-time teams tend not to do as well as a team of equal strength would have done if they're a nationals regular.
