I will admit that anything is possible, and it's certainly possible to underestimate teams. But it's a lot easier to jump into the upper tier than actually contend for nationals (see my personal experience). I wish you the best of luck, but not too much luck. ;)

My predictions are based on an extremely complicated algorithm that takes into account only whatever random things I am thinking at the time and types them onto the computer screen ;)

Looking back at my predictions, it is indeed possible that I overrated Canton. I'd probably swap you guys. However, I stand by the rest of my predictions. Northville is by far the favorite to win the state competition, which comes as no surprise. I expect second to be a strong battle between Grand Haven and Pioneer, with GH coming out on top. I generally find that prior year's states performances correlate more than invitationals do. A lot of teams simply aren't ready and at full strength when they go to invitationals, and/or don't stack teams/have missing people. I have indeed been known to be wrong, though.

It is hard, though not unheard of, to make an extreme jump at states from one year to the next. My old team went from 6th to 2nd in our region (behind GH), and 13th to 7th at States last year, and that took a ton of work.

That being said, you guys have no doubt done quite a good job at competitions this year, and I like your confidence :) This just goes to show how strong of a state Michigan is. I wish you the best of luck!

On another note, I'll be volunteering Hovercraft all day. Hope to see some of you there!

One additional thing while I'm thinking about it - just so people know, the UMSO invitational will be on Saturday, February 16th next year. Current plan is to do Div C only again, though we might expand the team cap. We do hope to expand to Div B in the fairly near future. Registration will open sometime in September, most likely - we'll send coaches an email and post updates on our website when we have more information.

1. Meads Mill
2-60. Somebody else

In all seriousness, I'm not really sure. Division B has been quite variable in recent years, and I haven't paid all that close attention to it. Lakeshore is obviously always pretty good, and Baker is a defending Nationals team, so it'll be interesting.

By my rough medal calculations, the final scores would be expected to be GH 1st, Northville 2nd, Forest Hills Central 3rd. Depends on non-medals, of course.
