What do u mean by "a slightly larger wheelbase"?

Edit: No offense, but are you exaggerating? Looking at a ruler, I find it hard to believe that you fit a motor, gears, and wheels within a 5 cm space.

I'm just about done with my vehicle, and my wheelbase is around 12 cm.

Sounds a lot more reasonable than that other guy lol.

How are you going to implement the curving system?

Half of my vehicle is a modified r/c car while the other half is made from an old erector set. A piece of the erector set is attached to the axle, so to make the vehicle turn, I need to slightly turn the erector set piece. I can elaborate if needed.

I bet you could do it. Look up worm motors on Amazon. The "axle" of the motor is turned 90 degrees to the direction of the motor. I personally plan to try this out. 40 cm does seem like the buggy wouldn't have a sharp enough turning radius.

What is the ground clearance for some of your vehicles? I am thinking about lowering the batteries to ~0.5 cm off the ground in order to lower the center of gravity.

I'm using worm gears and it would be extremely hard for me to make it that thin because I need room for my wheels too, which add a couple centimeters. Even if you could make it that thin, there would be trouble with dynamics and it would be hard to consistently get the same runs.

I agree, I think it would be much safer to go for 10 to 12 cm. Even if it is possible, it probably isn't the best for accuracy.

Aluminum tubing. T40 wheels. My connections and bearing mounts are 3d printed. Scope mount, motor mount printed also. Threadstock of course for axles. Bolt adjustment no caliper. Probably will only use 4 batteries.

Madcow, did you call on the 2 7/8 t40s? Maybe if there are enough requests.... they will make more?
I called. Apparently they aren't going to have a new batch anytime soon.
