Do you need FATTOM? I saw it in ONE archived test, but otherwise, all the other tests didn't have it. Should I study it?

It's related to foodborne illnesses. Probably there won't be any questions on it, but you may want to just add the acronym to your notesheet.

Depends on the state. Here in Hawaii, the tests are 2-3, but at nationals, they approach 7-8. In competitive states like California, tests can go up to 9 in difficulty. I have not yet encountered a 10 test thus far.

No main subject, the topic is just general epidemiology.
Dude, the nats tests didn't even relate to the topic and we didn't even finish them. However, they are doable and easy so long as you know your stuff. I mean, it's just tedious tbh. California invites were easy too.

Nats I'd give ~6 in difficulty, but a 8 for it's length.
California ~5-6

Disease has never been able to stump me like meteorology or potions has, and until I get to see a test that can DD as a whole isn't that hard.

MIT, oh god thats something else though. Thats like a 9.

At Regionals, it's like a 1-2 (varies for different states)
At States, like a 2-3 (varies for different states)
As you may or may not know Florida is not competitive at all (except for OSS, River City, and Archimedean in Div B). So the tests are reallllyyy easy.

Oh god at nationals that was a #@!%hole.
At Nationals it had nothing to do with Food-borne illness, only the black death. It was a pretty hard test, but EXTREMELY LONG. I think like 11 or 12 pages? It was mainly studies, I would rate it an 8 at nationals.

lmao I was the one that put FATTOM on the wiki. I've never seen it in a test, and also, it's related to Food-borne illness. Which isn't the topic for this year, and it takes up some space in your cheat sheet if you do put it. So I don't think you're going to need it.

Even if you put it in your notesheet, it takes up like a line :P

I would suggest knowing basic things about common diseases like cause, symptoms, incubation period, etc.

Since there is a romain lettuce ecoli outbreak, do you think this will be in the test? This is the site https://www.cdc.gov/ecoli/2018/o157h7-11-18/index.html

Some exams do include current events, yes. It's not always a guarantee, though.
