For Slope do you mean Slope Gradient? Slope Gradient is exactly what it sounds like- calculating the gradient of a slope on land. You can do this on a quadrangle by finding the change in elevation between two points and dividing it by the distance between two points. Then, multiply by 100. Remember though, to accurately find the elevation between the two points, you need to look at the Contour Interval.

A profile is basicly a graph showing the relationship between distance and elevation. This is what a topographic profile looks like: http://www.uwec.edu/geography/ivogeler/ ... rofile.jpg

This website has a fairly good description on how to profile: http://geology.isu.edu/geostac/Field_Ex ... ofiles.htm

Me and my partner dove into this event; we didn't know we were doing it until like 20 minutes before we realized Road Scholar needed substitutes.

Well, you need to know how to write the descriptions. That's very important. You need to be able to find where a test is saying something is, and you need to be able to write it yourself. You should know how the sections and the townships are set up. Maybe it's a good idea to know which states use PLSS, because not all do, but I haven't had to know that on any test that I've taken yet.

PLSS is one of the most important things in Road Scholar, and I definetly reccomend learning everything you can about the system.
