Could someone explain what exactly is needed to be known for the test? I honestly have little idea. It is my first year, thanks. And for the lab, I have no idea. thanks.

Go to this website (https://www.soinc.org/) and sign up to get a copy of the Division B Rules Manual. That's a start!

Exactly! The manual provides a guide for coaches and Event Supervisors to write tests. If it helps, we try to cover as much of the information that is possible. Make sure you are familiar with the "possible" labs they mention in the manual. Get going!

3.II.b states that one (or multiple) of the following labs will be given "chromatography, mixtures of reagents, separation of a mixture, serial
dilutions, determination of pH, and conductivity testing."
Keep on going :)

well you should memorize the formulas and stuff, and molarity. Molarity is going to be a big thing at Harvard, actually. Keep it to the absolutely needed things, dont waste space on something you might not need. But just mostly memorize the chem stuff. keep to the basics of animals.

Tip: Publisher helps conserve a LOT of space.

Good luck! : )

Based on the last two years, we've had;

chromatography (rarely, but be ready)
mixtures of reagents/ separation of a mixture
serial dilutions (with vinegar)
determination of pH
conductivity testing (not really though)
physical vs chemical changes

The ES would use either one or even all of them. Be ready for all. : )

Yeah, except I've personally never seen chromatography :D .

How many beakers, erlenmeyer flasks, graduated cylinders, and test tubes should a team bring for Potions & Poisons?

May I have some advice on how to do sample question f.? It's the one saying "Given a map, analyze the potential spread patterns of toxic spills via water, wind or gravity."r
