Hey guys,the Minnesota (Minnetonka region) regional competition wrapped up today.

Varsity:
1. Wayzata High School ( )
2. Eden Prairie High School
3. Minnetonka High School
4. The Blake School
5. Kennedy High School
6. Delano High School

ALL advance to state because all finished in the top 12 of state last year.

I was on JV, but I medaled (2nd in Thermo, 3rd in Water Quality)

Div C State results look like usual to me. Can't really judge anything regarding Mounds View without anyone at their level to compete against.

While Mounds View won handily, as usual, they didn't do as well this year as in previous years. For example, they didn't medal in Protein Modeling or Boomilever and had a lot more 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths than expected (as that is all that receives medals in MN). From what I've heard (Minnesotan here) they had problems with having lots of juniors from last year into this year contesting for spots and getting burnt out by over-competing against themselves.

I'm not sure why Minnesota even has a state tournament -- Mounds View destroys its competition every year.

It wasn't that long ago that Mounds View wasn't destroying their state competition by large margins.

I'm not sure why Minnesota even has a state tournament -- Mounds View destroys its competition every year.

That's a little disrespectful to the rest of the state; a state tournament gives people from other schools the chance to earn state medals, and someday perhaps a team will rise up and challenge Mounds View, and they should always be given that chance.

I agree as well. Different teams can come up all time at competitions (no matter the type), and you have to keep an open mind for what can happen. At the Florida state competition last year, the team that had a seven-year winning streak (my school) unfortunately lost it to another school just like that. Years before that I'm sure many people would've said the same thing about my school.
