Are there any study books we can use in order to prepare for the Geologic Mapping olympiad?

Does anyone have any good resources to learn how to do strike and dip calculations and the three point problem?

Not really. Looking at maps a lot does help though.

I'm still having trouble with all the calculations. Are there any helpful resources for the rake, dip, strike, apparent and true thickness, and apparent and true dip problems?
I can't really seem to understand them.

I have this event, and I don't much about it at all. Is there any resources I can use to learn the basics?

The SciOly Wiki is a good place to start (https://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/GeoLogic_Mapping). For notes, I'd go down the sheet and try to have notes on everything on the sheet. You do get a binder after all.

Could anyone help me with a question on the LISO test?
What is the true thickness of a sill of dip 20°, height 150m, and width 500m? Explain how you
found your answer
The answer key says the answer is 312m (+/-5). I spent a long while trying to find formulas to use on this problem, but to little success. I'm probably just missing something simple, but does anyone know how to get 312m?

i didnt do this problem in competition, but im getting 438. The thing is that i didn't use the 500m width; not sure where that is relevant
True thickness = width(sin(dip))+height(cos(dip))
500*sin20+150*cos20
311.96
