Re: 2020-2021 Events
I really hope they won’t change the list for ornithology, I do not want to waste hundreds of sheets of paper and possibly break my printer again
2020 events- ornithology, water quality
2019 events- herpetology, solar systems
bring back solar systems

I'm down for another year of wright stuff, but does anyone know what their reasoning would be?![]()

Re: 2020-2021 Events
If they bring back wright stuff again, can we at least have decent rules such as maybe a propeller larger than 8 cm

I remember 3/4 of the people getting tiered in it when it was a trial event at nationals. From what I've seen of it it looks like a pretty silly event

Yes; I think this year's bonus is a good idea, but the specs for the plane... not so much. Maybe a 15cm prop, a larger stab, and a higher minimum weight?

Re: 2020-2021 Events
I can't wait for 2020-2021 season. I am kind of sad it will be my last year.
I want to do Chem lab, environmental chemistry, and cell biology. All my interests are there!

Re: 2020-2021 Events
Interesting how so many old events seem to be coming back. WiFi Lab was a neat trial too, so I'm interested to see how it'll be run officially. Pretty tragic how half of my events are moving out of rotation next year, though. I preferred Rocks to Fossils, but Designer Genes is better than Cell Bio in basically every way. Watch me end up going back to Wright Stuff and WIDI like someone who can't move on after a bad breakup

Re: 2020-2021 Events
How is Remote Sensing "pay to win"? It is a study event. How is WiFi Lab a pay to win event? It literally requires just coax, connectors, and wire.Creationist127 wrote: ↑January 18th, 2020, 5:51 am[rant]
Detector, remote sensing, AND wifi lab? Green generation AND enviro chem? Aren’t these kind of redundant? I mean, I know they’re different, but it’s still kind of an overload of electronics/environment. Plus, those electronic events seem like a pay-to-win, at least at first glance.
And I am not going through one more year of the agony that is Wright Stuff.
[/rant]
But in all seriousness, next year should be interesting.

Re: 2020-2021 Events
Y'know, I didn't really look into what I was typing, I just kinda jumped to conclusions based on event names. Later when I looked them up I was like "oh wait..."LIPX3 wrote: ↑February 2nd, 2020, 3:05 pmHow is Remote Sensing "pay to win"? It is a study event. How is WiFi Lab a pay to win event? 2019: Thermo, Circuit Lab, Sounds, Wright Stuff
2020: Circuit Lab, Wright Stuff, Machines
2021: Circuit Lab, Machines, WIDI, anything but Wright Stuff
Can I request that we delete 2020 from our memories and do it over again?

Re: 2020-2021 Events
That's fair, these events do sound a lot more expensive than they are. But keep in mind the direction Sciecne Olympiad seems to be going (Robot Arm to Detector Building, no electronics in Misison, etc.)Creationist127 wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2020, 5:22 amY'know, I didn't really look into what I was typing, I just kinda jumped to conclusions based on event names.
