Okay, I need to yell about something. What better place to do it then here?
[rant]
So because we're not actually in school, my teachers are giving us all projects instead of final exams. They say it's so we can 'avoid the stress of a typical exam', and we 'have plenty of time to finish the projects'.
All five of the projects are due at the end of this week, despite the fact that we have two weeks of school left. For me, this is a nightmare. Five tests? Fifteen minutes or a half hour each, then we're done. Five projects at once? Hours of work, and no truly objective way to grade them. This has created more stress than taking actual, normal finals. I officially detest corona because of this nonsense.
[/rant]
Phew, that was relieving. Carry on.

Same, Creationist, except luckily my teachers are pretty good about spacing out projects and some of them have progressed beyond caring. The excess stress would feel less insulting if they just told us it's because there's no way to test with distance learning that prevents cheating. I think their idea is that you would have been spending hours studying anyway, but it's not fair to impose that on every student when the point of finals is to measure your grasp of the course material, not the time you put in at the end. For the due date, I assume it's because they have to hand-grade them instead of putting them all through a scantron, but it feels like they've forgotten they're not your only teacher, and that whatever work you get from them is probably multiplied five-, six-, or seven-fold.
Anyway, ranting is fine, venting can be good for you, and we're all kind of in the stress-about-corona boat.

My teachers are giving us tests and quizzes on either Castle Learning or Google Forms. We're not getting too many projects, but classes like "Home and Careers" (where we make food and decorate interiors) and Art are giving us projects. How important are these classes? And there's also the fact that we get 1-2 in each class each week. This is frustrating because we already are struggling in the 5 actual subjects, because we get videos and we have to learn it ourselves. I think that classes like these should be dropped because if kids don't do the work (due to stuff at home or stress), their GPA falls.
