I hope you understand how pointing out how Efesa made others revisit previous traumas/demanding an apology is important. Making him feel bad for making others feel bad is an unfortunate side effect but it shouldn't overshadow the feelings of others who experienced severe emotional pain.

SciOly.org is meant to be a space where we can talk about SciOly and miscellaneous things together. Putting a common emotional trigger in a forums post is not a private matter to be resolved in pms, nor is it a matter to be brushed off or shut down, nor is it a situation in which the emotional comfort of one person should be put above the emotional well-being of people they are directly negatively affecting.

It was quite clear what he was implying, I don't think that there was any confusion about that. Even if he didn't, he still refuses to apologize, making it even worse. Also, I don't believe that these posts need to be deleted. There has been a lot of thoughtful reflection and there is nothing inappropriate about the discussion (with the exception of efesa's original post, obviously).

The fact that you deny your mistake, and still don't apologize to people who were hurt because of your mistake, and you just stretching this out longer makes it so much worse for you. This community is meant to be helpful, fun, and safe for everyone. We all apologize (and will apologize) when we've made a mistake. Caring about others feeling is extremely important in these forums. It says so much about you now, that you're just not willing to put away your pride and type out a simple apology. You're in denial.

I have already reported this behavior to his coach. It is unfortunate that it has to come to this, but your behavior online isn't just a reflection on yourself, but also on the team you represent. Making mistakes is okay, everyone makes mistakes. It becomes a problem when you do not own up to your mistakes.
