Just let the faster typer/strong partner solo/carry. You can also keep a spreadsheet with answers open, so you can just copy-paste directly into the answer sheet.

While that makes sense and seems like the best solution for now, it seems very suboptimal; favoring schools that can compete in-person (with safety precautions, of course).
I guess in theory the one hour helps with that... but it still places schools on an unequal playing field due to the lack of collaborative editing options.

Edit: and although shortening tests may be a possible solution, that adds a whole host of new problems, such as ties and tests where scores are way too high (also, this year, longer tests seem to favorable because they reduce the benefit cheating by looking things up)

Speaking of the one hour, how much time are yall reserving for submitting? I'm thinking of working for 40 minutes, copying answers over for 10 mins, and then leaving myself 10 minutes to submit.

ELI B Results
1. Port Jefferson A (68)
2. RC Murphy A (98)
3. West Hollow B (102)
4. West Hollow A (116)
5. Happauge (122)
6. PJ Gelinas A (129)
7. PJ Gelinas B (131)
8. Port Jefferson B (163)
9. RC Murphy B (166)
10. Commack A (172)

Congrats to everyone!
It is worth noting that PJ Gelinas was disqualified in 4 events while RC Murphy was also disqualified in 3 events. I hope some serious changes are made to the current system to prevent the hard work of individuals and teams in the upcoming Regionals and States competitions from being rendered useless because of disqualifications.

I believe it was actually 5 events for Gelinas! And the frustrating thing is that they got either first or second in the ones that weren't dq'd. These placements don't show teams accurately at all.

Also I've heard of teams being dq'd because of using different types of documents at East LI.

Yeah, the results were really confusing. It appears that in each event, some teams got normal placements (#1 through #12-#16, depending on how many teams got DQed). Then, some teams got 22nd, indicating a no-show. Teams that got disqualified got 23rd, and presumably, the worst placement <22 in each event represents all teams that submitted a blank answer sheet.
Just as a quick example, in Circuit Lab, the top 13 teams all got places #1-#15. Then, 3 teams received a no-show, getting 22nd, and 1 team got a full DQ, getting 23rd. Two teams got 18th place; these are likely the teams that submitted blank answer sheets, effectively getting a partial DQ.

NY is now saying to use adobe instead of Preview, and the use of any other program that modifies the answer sheet is grounds for DQ.

Thoughts?

Sounds like NY further dividing the competition. I don't expect schools to allow the download of applications of any kind on school chromebooks, which is the only thing some students have. I also don't see what the issue is with using edge or chrome, as I thought using those applications allow the autosum function to work (assuming that the autosum not working is the main grounds for DQ).
