Does anybody know what was up with the point totals? We are a little confused because with the correct Junkyard Challenge score, we had a total of 263 points and we came in 7th, but the 6th place team supposedly had 320 points. I know they said that the point totals were wrong, but then why would they have read them off for 1-6? Any ideas?

I did hear about that. It was right after the team results I went to the Div. B Solon to congratulate them. I saw some of the Div C HS and they were talking about it.

Apparently, one of their competitors got stuck in the elevators and couldn't go to the event. I heard they still had the other person in that event, but Div C is really competitive and I doubt one person is good enough to do well. I was on my way to an event and I saw the fire trucks and police cars (that might be for something else, dunno.) This is probably the cause of their third place showing. They got second at nats last year, they should have done extremely well.

I was also surprised at Magsigs third place. I really expected them to pull through. Look at last year, Solon was whuppin them and then right before State, they really pulled it off and came out with a first.

However, I congratulate Solon and Chardon. Solon seems to be the champs at nats this year again.

During the day, like around 1 or 2, in Baker, 3 of the kids from WL-S got trapped in an elevator comin down from the 5th floor. The door was shuttin and then it stopped about 5 inches closed and wouldnt shut. They called one of the adults in the room and she told them to press the emergency button. Eventually a bunch of fire trucks and police came and got them out after 20 minutes, and after the lady told them it would be an hour. It was really scary for them. And yes, they were some of my friends from my school.

Meh, no one posted?
Well, I have all the places and scores on a score sheet sitting right in from of me so...

1st: Solon Middle School - 73 points
2nd: Chardon Middle School - 164 points
3rd: Magsig Middle School - 174 points
4th: Copley-Fairlawn Middle School - 192 points
5th: West Liberty-Salem Middle School - 206 points
6th: Watts Middle School - 217 points

Notice how close the scores were, well, 2nd-6th. Lets face it, Solon couldn't be beat. They placed in 21/23 events, with the other 2 being 8th places. They spanked everyone.
Chardon, on the other hand, had 16/23, with scores such as 13, 14, 20, 22, 34, that could've been beat.
Magsig: 20, 33, 21. placed in 15/23
West Liberty, the designated 3rd place team, had just one first place (MEE!!), but had scores as 13, 14, 15, 18, 16, 23. Placed in 11/23. That could have been cleaned up easily, and if we placed a few places better in all those events, we could have gotten way higher.

Next year will be WL-S most competitive year yet, so Chardon and Magsig should really study up. :p

Overall, states was awesome. :)

No offense to Solon MS, but I expected them to get 1st in Anatomy. What happened? Did one of them (the 2 ppl doing it) get involved in the elevator conspiracy?
