- I know I'm one of many who is grateful for Kim Gervase's dedication for many years at North Carolina Science Olympiad, and we're sad to you go. - Some events will not be run at regional tournaments, and will only appear at the state tournament.
- Can't Judge a Powder, Experimental Design, Fast Facts, Meteorology, Road Scholar, and Sounds of Music will not be run at regionals for Division B.
- Detector Building, Environmental Chemistry, Experimental Design, Fermi Questions, It's About Time, and WiFi Lab will not be run at regionals for Division C.
