I don't have official scores, but I don't believe that they did as well at states. They still won, but from what I saw with medals, I don't think it was as much as in the past.
ummm... they got 19 medals. for a totl of 55. thast REALLY good, especially for michigan (48 teams).
Really? I had no idea! That's amazing! They have a high chance of winning! What school are you from?

I see Penncrest has a vote. I don't really know who to go with. I picked Troy, but I'm not sure if they'll repeat.

Does MI drop the lowest scores then? You can't get in the fifty's and bomb events, if you got first even in 19 events that would leave 30 points for bombing, in four events, and that's assuming you got first in all other 19.

Shruggs, nationals is close enough anyway. We'll find out then.

Aaah, so maybe they aren't as dominant as we thought they were. 19 medals is a lot for MI though...

Sorry, and congratulations at making it to nationals to WWPSHS.
Also MI scores are up.

It seems that generally Grand Haven did phenomenally... but they bombed 4 events. While they got top 5 in 17 events, and 6th in 2 more, the total of the events that did not do very well was 115 points. The total of their events scoring 6th and above was only 65. They got first over the second place team by only 2 points. The general weaknesses were in building events, including Junkyard, Egg, and EV.

I wish them the best of luck, and I really do like Grand Haven, they are generally a very strong and friendly team. Now the fact that it was building that they didn't do as well in could be good, in that it is not unusual for building events to have mishaps that cost a team seriously. However it is also bad in that there is very little time to actually change a building event between their very late states and nationals.

Really nationals could go any which way for Grand Haven, and for anyone else really. We don't know the whole story. Perhaps the other teams in Michigan are getting better, specifically Plymouth Christian. I mean there are many factors that need to be considered. At any rate, good luck to Grand Haven, as well as all of the other teams that are going to nationals, and congratulations on making it there.

we dont drop the bad scores we just give all teams that are over 40th place a 40 personally I just dont think they want to tell a team that you were dead last (Grand Haven won by 2 points but they had two event that placed very badly. I do think that they still have a high chance of being a top 3 team this year)

Good luck Grand Haven at nat's

If Grand Haven can work on those building events during the 2 weeks they have between states and nats, then they can definitely win. However if these aren't fixed, they will probably cost them a win. I'm guessing that they will improve these. Good luck to them at nats. It's always nice to see a MI team win.
