Ok, after I posted I felt like I was missing something, but I just couldn't remember. Do you guys think that the current topic is the most challenging?

No, I find this one very easy. Oceanography was harder.

i've competed in all but rivers and lakes, and i thought oceanography was definitely the hardest, and glaciers was the most fun

The current one (earthquakes/volcanoes) is in my opinion very easy. I also thought Oceanography was more difficult than this topic, but not too much as I got 1st at regionals both years the had it, and 4th at states the second year. :D I can't say anything about rivers/lake and glaciers, but it sounds like rivers/lakes would be pretty easy, so that would leave glaciers as the hardest in my opinion. I actually did Glaciers in 6th grade, and thought it was hard, but I was thrown in and didn't have much experience, so...

Probably, they ask in the rules for emergency awareness and tsunamis, so putting them together isn't out of the question. Maybe not too much in depth though, tsunamis are not usually focused on that much.
