We (gelinas) got 11th in the nation. We were about 30 points ahead of the 12th place team, but only 43 points behind 2nd!!!!! Solon ran away with it, but 2-11 were all really competitive! It was an awesome time and so much fun!

How did they break the tie? i thought that ties where broken by trial events?dickyjones wrote:HUGE congrats to Bloomington South for getting 14th after finding out about getting to go only 3 weeks before!
And that 10/11 tie has to be brutal.

170...that's ridiculously amazing.
Congrats to Centerville, and everyone else who did well.
Ward Melville got 16th, which we are content with, considering all the chaos that was going on.

Yeah, Melville with one of their superstars unable to be there... 16th is impressive
We, in 11th place, were only 6 points behind the 10th place team, and only 8 points behind Eagle Hill (we had, again, some unexpected bombs, so I wouldn't be calling off the question of who's the more competitive NY team just yet... you can see for yourself how close it was).

Re: 2009 National Science Olympiad Competition Results
Haha, yep, and I have to say that 18th in Cell Bio after picking it up the night before was not bad at all. Though Victor did a lot of it.
But i did help...

Well, for example, our Robo-Cross robot burned out the night before and we had to use our Sumo-Bot with a shovel glued to the front... so we ended up getting 55th in that.fmtiger124 wrote:when u say "unexpected bombs" what do you mean?Phenylethylamine wrote:Yeah, Melville with one of their superstars unable to be there... 16th is impressive

True, it doesn't affect us directly, but I can't say I won't harbor some Gelinas loyalty even once I'm at WM

Yeah, even in WM we're still kinda split between Gelinas and Murphy. Petty, i know, but we cant help it.
Not that we dont all get along. We're one big happy family (mostly).
