Yep, we have two or three captains every year, who help the coaches run the team and make decisions. We also run some of the meetings (especially when the coach doesn't feel like dealing with 35+ restless junior high kids), although that can be tough because a lot of the team doesn't take us that seriously Also, I run the Gelinas usergroup on this forum, and my co-captain basically organized our whole schedule for Nats (our third captain doesn't do much, he basically just stands there and looks pretty while we attempt to run meetings. That's okay, though, since I think without him they wouldn't take us seriously at all).

As much as the part about Rob is true, there's absolutely no reason to bring him up if you have nothing nice to say about him.

My old team has had (co-)captains for two years now, and it seems like a pretty common idea to me, but not everyone has it. It's a nice idea though, gives some recognition to the hardest workers.
