I believe that you are looking for this, though: Glaciers flow downhill because of gravity and the internal deformation of the ice.
If I'm right, someone can go in my place. I will be at Summer Camp Sunday to Saturday.
That's a veeeeerrrrrrrrry elaborate answer.
I'm gonna guess: the ice melts, which makes water. The water wets the surface the glacier is on, causing it to slip and slide at a pretty slow pace

That's correct, if anyone wants to go they can go, otherwise I'll go again.

Speaking of glaciers, does anyone know any good study resources, because I don't want to be guessing that the how of glacier movement is caused by gravity and the glacier weathering anything else in its way down.

I would protest, but I don't want to spam this page.
1. What is a jökulhlaup?
2. Name a volcano that has caused a jökulhlaup in the past.
3. Are glaciers thinner or thicker than sea ice?

1. A type of glacial outburst flow.
2. Katla. It's in Iceland.
3. Glad to see you used my suggestion. Glaciers are much thicker than sea ice.

Correct. I would check the volcano, but basically every volcano in Iceland has caused a jökulhlaup. Your turn.
