Re: Most Competitive Science Olympiad Event
At my school, I was the only team doing entomology.
I guess competitiveness can really vary.

Ento is Lyfe. Ento. Bugs. Insects.
I didn't choose the Bug Lyfe, the Bug Lyfe chose me.
Live and die for Teh Insectz.

I'm pretty sure Road Scholar has been around longer than Meteorology has. I think Meteorology came into existence after they took the weather topics out of the Dynamic Planet cycle. Then they made a weather event for Div B, and weather is nonexistent in Div Chomesciencenerd wrote:most competitive is meteorology because it has been around so long

I have a friend who took Rocks & Minerals for 2 years. He's often said that it's easy to be good at it, but difficult to be really good.

Yes, I believe R&M to be the most competitive event, as well as MM and Ento- anyone who studies enough can't fail it.

Re: Most Competitive Science Olympiad Event
I think it varies every school. Personally, no one wants to do build events at my school. Everyone wants study events.
I'd have to say Anatomy though. 6 Candidates fought for a full blown month regarding who was going to coach. :/

Personally, with study events, it depends on the test.

Re: Most Competitive Science Olympiad Event
Personally I believe Anatomy and Physiology to be the most competitive because (not to stereotype or anything) but a lot of the people who do A&P probably want to take on some career in medicine in the future and see this as a starting point. Plus with the number of scioly participants who have parents as successful doctors, they have more pressure to succeed in what they do because their parents push them and train them in the subject.
