What is the hardest event?

For anything Science Olympiad-related that might not fall under a specific event or competition.

For study events, I'd say the hardest (or most intensive studywise) events would be Astronomy, Health Science, Cell Bio, and maybe Fossils. But these are also the events you probably can be most sure that you're medaling in before competition after you've put a lot of time into them so that might make them considered easier and more consistent for top teams.

You could say the the chem/physics lab events are harder contentwise when you're someone who's not naturally good at them. But for me, the math based physics/chem events are the easiest to medal in without much work at regionals and states but nearly impossible to medal in at nationals since everyone's nearly at the same level (but you can do decently for sure without a ton of work).

WIDI can be considered hard for some teams that tend to fail at it. Others might find a good combo that always randomly medal at nats without much practice (*cough* eak *cough*).

Tech events would be the hardest for me since I'm definitely not an engineer.

So really it depends on who you are. And as other people say if an event is easy for you, it's easy for everyone else. I'd personally prefer to do the 'hard' events that require more work because the best teams seem more likely to win in those with luck being much less of a factor.

Crave the Wave is so full of surprises and the topics are really broad. Every time I think I know everything, something is thrown at me *cough*State*cough* that I don't know.

Do you already have a robot to work off of? I had to start from scratch 3 days before regionals.
