Bay Academy is a Division B team that competes in New York.

The Bay Academy (I.S. 98) is located in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. Formerly known as the Reynolds Junior High School, it is a public magnet school that offers courses in a wide range of disciplines, including creative writing, art, drama, math/computers, science, and music, featuring wind instruments, stringed instruments, and vocals. Admission into Bay Academy is selective. Applicants are required to take two "talent tests" and must be from School District 21. In the 2016-2017 academic year, the school had an enrollment of 1,552.

Alumni have gone to prestigious high schools such as Midwood High School, The Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences, as well as specialized high schools such as Stuyvesant High School, Staten Island Technical High School and Brooklyn Technical High School.

The Bay Academy SciOly team, like so many others, rose from very humble beginnings. Our first competition was the 2015 NY State Regionals, and though our final medal count was less than hoped for, our students were determined to come back better and stronger the following year. We returned with even greater confidence and knowledge, took 2nd Place and earned the coveted letter of invitation to the State competition! It's been all uphill since then, culminating in a 3rd place finish at States in 2019. Can we bring a New York City middle school team to Nationals? Let's see!
