Orefield Middle School is a relatively new Division B team (started in 2015) which participates in the Central East region in Pennsylvania. They were inspired to start a Science Olympiad team by the accomplishments of Springhouse Middle School which is the other middle school in Parkland School District. In their third year, their first time as a full 15 member team, they achieved 2nd at regionals with a score of 89, beating Whitehall-Coplay Middle School. Ever since their start in 2015, they came a long way to be second in regionals for 2017, qualifying for states for the first time in years. At states that year, they also got 9th place. Highlights of their 2017-2018 season include a 6th place finish at Garnet Valley Invitational, a 4th place finish at Little Tiger Invitational, and a 2nd place finish at Central East Pennsylvania regionals, beating their score from the previous year by 24 points. That year at states, they beat their score from the year before by almost 100 points and got 6th place. They feed into Parkland High School. In their 2019 year, they went to regionals and states wil a team of 11 people. They increased their score by 22 points at regionals, still getting 2nd, and were 12th at states with a score of 375, placing 12th overall.

Orefield also fielded a team in the early 2000s, qualifying for states in 2001 and 2003, placing 4th in the region both times. They stopped competing later in the 2000s.
