Separate Attributes

I am looking for opinions on a new design for this template I am considering. I am thinking of "splitting up" some of the template parameters. first would be split into first_name, first_place, first_note, and first_points. first_states would be split into first_states_place and first_states_points. The same would be done for second and third parameters. My reasons for this include:

  1. Template changes. If we would want to change the look of this template later, the data is split up to make that easier.
  2. Easier readability. The data for each of the cells is much more visible at a glance, being separated from each other.
  3. ... is eliminated, meaning that no outside HTML code is needed to create normal functioning of this template. Currently, to write "notes" in the table (and below it), you need to use this HTML tag. Now, this would be entirely controlled by the template's parameters (using the first_note and note1, note2, note3, ... parameters), meaning no outside HTML code is required.

Not sure though if other editors think that this would create too many parameters to work with, or possibly make the template seem daunting to work with. Thanks! ~ Pepperonipi talk 23:05, 9 February 2020 (UTC)

I think it sounds like a good idea to split it up, especially to eliminate the . Tailsfan101 (talk) 23:11, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback Tails. I'm going to split it up now, with support for the original version so a ton of pages don't suddenly start breaking. ~ Pepperonipi talk 00:52, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
