Hi! I'm bored. It's not like anybody is even going to read this page anyways. If you're reading this and you're not me, then uh... guess not then.
Idk what I'm even supposed to put on here.
Despite really enjoying SciOly and the fact that it is her fifth year, she completely sucks at it. She is a sophomore from SoCal. She competes for RBHS (2019-2021), which you've probably never heard of before, and competed for BHMS(2016-2019), which you've definitely never heard of before. It doesn't even exist anymore :(. She sucks at everything, but if you asked her what her favorite event is, it's Codebusters all the way :).
And uh... she's doing Codebusters, Geo Mapping, and Dynamic Planet this year? Though I have no idea what I'm doing in any of my events hahaha.
Oh wait, and what events she's done before? Not like anybody cares, but here they are:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Chemistry Lab
- Crime Busters
- Dynamic Planet
- Fast Facts
- Geologic Mapping
- Mission Possible
- Potions and Poisons
- Rocks and Minerals
- Write It Do It
I stopped being lazy and am actually trying to update my userpage with stuff about me (while I procrastinate on history HW...)
Oh, and now is a good place to insert a disclaimer:
DISCLAIMER: AGNEG KNOWS THAT HER PLACEMENTS AND MEDALS ARE TRASH. SHE HAD ZERO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DOING IN HER FIRST FEW YEARS AND TBH, STILL SUCKS AND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE'S DOING. SHE ASKS THAT YOU DO NOT LAUGH AT HER PATHETIC SCIOLY HISTORY. HER EXPERIENCE WITH SCIOLY HAS BEEN MORE THE MEMORIES OF FAILING MISERABLY TOGETHER THAN THE JOY OF WINNING AS A TEAM AND THIS HISTORY REFLECTS THAT. WHEN SHE SAYS THAT SHE LOVES AN EVENT, SHE KNOWS THAT SHE'S NOT VERY GOOD AT ANY OF THEM AND THEREFORE PROBABLY DOESN'T HAVE ANY RIGHT TO SAY THAT, BUT... MEH. PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN YOU SEE TEXT LIKE "what? we got a teeny tiny ribbon even though we threw the test/ wow, we got a mEdAl"
2016-17 (6th grade, Division B)
Agneg05 joined SciOly... well, just because. She thought science was interesting, I guess? Her school was admittedly not the strongest... across all 5 teams we only got two placements (9th WIDI and 16th Fast Facts) and they were in inquiry events LOL. She distinctly remembers sitting up in the top most right corner of the gym with the 7 people that bothered to show up to the award ceremony and screaming and cheering like crazy people whenever we placed though nobody else could hear us. She had no idea what she was doing but somehow placed 16th in Fast Facts despite laughing through the whole test with her partner at their troll answers.
2017-18 (7th grade, Division B)
Her Fast Facts coach from last year actually took over as head coach, and she got everybody into teams and managed people and such much more efficiently, so overall performance improved... with THREE placements across all teams :D (3rd WIDI, 8th Rocks and Minerals, 12th WIDI) personal placements: 3rd WIDI, 8th Rocks and Minerals
It was this year that Agneg had an AWESOME coach for Rocks and Minerals which made her fall in love with the event, only to get her soul crushed when Fossils rotated in >:(.
She also particularly enjoyed Write It Do It. While she did do it the previous year, her partner quit and she didn't actually have a partner, so a friend of hers went in for the competition and as expected, they did horribly. However, this year, she had a partner (which actually happened to be the exact same person who dropped out last year lol). She became very good friends with said partner and had decent communication. Her main strong suit in WIDI was not description, she SUCKED at that, but rather, scribbling down random descriptions as fast as she could in the 25 minutes so that she usually got to the 5th page. It was very fortunate that her partner could read her handwriting. It was this year where her handwriting went from fine to disastrous as she tried to improve her writing speed because that was the only advantage they actually had. Funnily enough, at regionals, her partner only made it to the 2nd page, so don't ask me how we even placed. She still maintains that the grader accidentally added a few dozen points. She knows that WIDI is practically a meme, but hey, it was fun and she made a lot of memories doing it.
A nice memory she has of this competition is her head coach crying when she and her partner got 3rd in WIDI. It was nice to see her so happy :).
2018-19 (8th grade, Division B)
With her 6th grade favorite event and 7th grade favorite event gone, Agneg now had no event that she really enjoyed, so just put some random stuff down on the preference table. She ended up competing in Anatomy, Boomilever, Code, Crime Busters, and WIDI.
Placements: regs: 1st WIDI, 3rd Code, 15th Anat, 20th Crime Busters, states: 4th Code
Funnily enough, there actually wasn't a coach for Code in the beginning so they didn't start until a few months in. She only did Boomi because it was the only open slot for her to be partners with her friend. Actually, they wanted to self study code before there was a coach, but there was some communication issues and agneg thought her friend still wanted to do it but her friend thought agneg didn't want to do it so her friend basically told the head coach "jk nvm" and after agneg placed not horribly and regs and states, her friend never lets her live it down no matter how much she apologizes. (aahhhhh I'm so sorry <redacted for privacy>!!!!!)
When she looks upon Boomi and Anat, all she remembers is pain and suffering. She has since then told herself that she will never to do a bio event and never do a build event because they are the definition of pain. It was this year that she discovered the joy of Code. We did okay though tbh we kind of sucked (we thought we were okay, but this was inside our own little bubble and before I discovered the existence of the code gods)
We thought we bombed WIDI so bad and my partner (same partner as last year (<redacted for privacy> <3)) and I were so shocked when they called our team at regs. Honestly, WIDI is basically RNG, but whatever.
Our Crime Busters communication was trash. My partner and I were both extremely shy around each other and weren't comfortable splitting the test because idk... we just couldn't communicate "you do this and I do this" and had zero trust. Sooo you can imagine how that went. Everytime we disagreed, we tried to nicely say "I think you're wrong because XYZ" in the most passive way possible. At regs we got like 30% of the test done at less than 15 minutes left. Then I used the "scribble random trash down" technique and just guessed a random perpetrator and fabricated all the evidence so that it revolved around him for the analysis and we guessed B for all the rest of the questions. And we got a ribbon????? (it was the lowest ribbon possible and it was still a horrible placement haha, but it definitely did not line up with our trash performance)
Our middle school made states for the first time in we-think-maybe-20-ish years! We actually got an amount of medals that I can't remember all of them :D. Our head coach cried and we screamed like mad men when they announced that we got 9th :).
At states we DID bomb WIDI VERY VERY badly. The base structure thing was completely wrong at the start which screwed our whole thing over. We ended up placing close to last. I wrote in my description that it looked like an "L" but because of my bad handwriting my partner read it as a "2". It was humiliating when we saw the results. Sorry sorry sorry <redacted for privacy>!
Our high school coaches told us to scream loudly if anybody placed at state because nobody ever did at the high school, and much less the middle school since we never made state. Needless to say, we were very shocked when they announced that we placed (not a good placement, but never mind that). I'm that child in the recording who walked weird like she had no idea what to do with the crooked ponytail, who spontaneously gave her partner a bear hug at the side of the stage :3
2019-20 (9th grade, Division C)
Then she became a tiny freshman in a sea of tall people. She did Astro, Chem Lab, and Code, but never got to compete in any competition that year (our school didn't do an invitational and our regionals didn't happen before the COVID stuff). Rip SciOly season 2019-2020.
Anyways, on the off chance that someone actually bothered to read this and made it to the bottom of the page without passing out from the -300 IQ aura of this, then have a nice day :)! (Sorry this is so pessimisstic lol)
