Onoga17 is a UC Santa Barbara alumni and a former Division C competitor at Mountain View High School (California) from 2013-2017. He now serves as a part-time Astronomy mentor for his old team and was also part of the Santa Barbara Regional committee. Although his Science Olympiad accomplishments are mediocre at best, he has no issue proclaiming them for all to hear, much to the annoyance of his current colleagues.

He could be considered one of the founding members of the current Mountain View High School (California) program and was one of the two freshman members on the school's original 15 team roster who competed all four years of high school. As a result, he remains (perhaps too) attached to his old team and is still very much invested in their success.

NCAOnoga17 competed in California (North).

Onoga17 began the 2020 season by writing and supervising the Astronomy test for the LA Regional at Rio Hondo College. He then proceeded to contribute to preparations for the SB Regional Tournament, including writing the Astronomy and Reach for the Stars tests. On competition day, he was primarily responsible for supervising Gravity Vehicle, but also assisted with Boomilever. On the night prior to the regional, he unfortunately learned of the cancellation of the SoCal State tournament (a sign of things to come), which shut down his hopes of serving as an ES at that tournament. Later in the year, and at the beginning of the new Scioly season defined by virtual competitions, Onoga17 participated in one of the first of such tournaments as a supervisor for the Vehicle Design event at the BEARSO Invitational. Unfortunately, he came to despise said event due to the exhaustive process of grading individual team design documents. But hey, at least it cannot harm him any further (other than in his dreams). On a positive note, BEARSO gave Onoga17 an opening to supervise at future virtual tournaments.

This was Onoga17's first experience as an event supervisor. He learned of the creation of the UCSB Regional through an email, and promptly responded to the volunteer request. He began that tournament by supervising his assigned event, Boomilever, before being called into action by a lack of experienced Astronomy personnel to grade the Astronomy exams. Originally, it was the almighty Bearasauras who was attempting to grade said tests prior to Onoga17 jumping in and offering assistance, which the Bear accepted. This was Onoga's first interaction with Bear. Onoga17 went on to assist with Wright Stuff and various administrative tasks while meeting several members of the SB Scioly Regional Committee, which he joined later in the year.
