Homeschool Science Colorado (google us and look for us on Youtube) was founded in Fall 2008 and we entered our first competition Spring 2009 with a small and young B team that took the Southern Regional and State Competitions by storm with third place finishes in each. In Fall 2009 we added a C team to our club. Our students work hard and have learned to be resourceful and dedicated learners. In Fall 2009 we added a C team to our club. Our students work hard and have learned to be resourceful and dedicated learners. Our parents are our coaches, our kitchen tables are our labs, a fleet of minivans gets us from here to there, and a good search engine is our favorite resource.
Well into our 2011-2012 year, we've had an outstanding showing at Regionals, getting second in B Division and winning the C Division. Even our JV team (mainly little brothers and sisters of the B and C students) made an excellent showing with a few medals and many single-digit scores at Regionals. Now we are heading to State hoping for another trophy and possibly a trip to Florida.
Our mission is to provide participants, parents, coaches and all involved with the team a positive learning experience in the fields of Science. To compete as a team in Science Olympiad with character described in the Rule Handbook. To instill not only in ourselves but in our team a sense of pride and integrity that may be passed on for years to come.
