Homeschool Science Colorado was founded in Fall 2008 and entered its first competition Spring 2009 with a small and young B Division team that placed third in both the Southern Regional and State Competitions. In Fall 2009, when four of its students were too old for B, a C Division team was added to the club. HSC is based in the Colorado Springs and Woodland Park areas of Colorado, accepting homeschool students based in El Paso and Teller Counties only.

HCS finished strong in 2011-2012; the C team won Southern Regional and the B team placed a very close second. At state, both teams were a close second, missing a trip to Nationals.

Now, in the middle of the 2012-13 season, HSC has clinched the Southern Regional Tournament with 1st place in both divisions. And, like last year, both B and C placed 2nd at State. The B team will be competing at Nationals at Wright State.

HSC's students work hard and have learned to be resourceful and dedicated learners. The parents are its coaches, kitchen tables are its labs, a fleet of minivans gets the members from here to there, and a good search engine is HCS's favorite resource.

HCS's mission is to provide participants, parents, coaches and all involved with the team a positive learning experience in the fields of Science. To compete as a team in Science Olympiad with character described in the Rule Handbook. To instill not only in themselves but in the team a sense of pride and integrity that may be passed on for years to come.
