Kraemer Middle School is a middle school in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School Districtlocated in Placentia, California. It competes in the Orange County Regional and Southern California State in Division B. They maintain a close relationship with long-time rival Jeffrey Trail Middle School. Contrary to popular belief, even though they are only about a mile away, they don't feed directly into Troy High School, although many students end up attending school there due to it being the most rigorous and high-quality school in the area.

About Kraemer Science Olympiad
Kraemer Science Olympiad has existed in various iterations over the years, but the modern Kraemer Science Olympiad program was started by seventh grade GATE science teacher Shaun Evola. The team quickly rose to dominance in Southern California, going from 15th at the 2014 state tournament in Mr. Evola's rookie year to 2nd at the 2016 state tournament. The team finally achieved its goal of qualifying for nationals during the 2019 season, where they placed 6th overall and earned medals in seven events. As of the 2019-2020 season, Mr. Evola has taken a better teaching position at another school for the sake of his family. We wish Mr. Evola the best in his new position and thank him for all he has done for our program.
As of the 2019-2020 season, the team is headed by coaches Minesh Patel, Josh Hockman, Nina Kini, and Tim Elnitiarta, assisted by many alumni and community volunteers, and supervised by science teacher Kevin Norfleet. Preliminary teams are decided by holding a scrimmage with Jeffrey Trail Middle School and Orange County School of the Arts (JTOK Scrimmage). Lineups for each competition are decided by coaches using results from previous competitions. Kraemer students have been known for their focus and hard work, seldom getting distracted at competition; it was once said that Kraemer's tent did not have their name because others could tell who it was from the visible diligence (also the sweatshirts that say "Kraemer Science Olympiad). The coaches stress teamwork and personal responsibility over winning, and as such, the program has produced many successful alumni over the years.
A Message from Jeffrey Trail
The Jeffrey Trail Science Olympiad team would like to congratulate you on your state victory! Even though the loss was heartbreaking (and definitely crushing), you guys truly deserve the honor of representing Southern California at the National tournament. Good luck and nats and see y'all in later competitions!
From Padre to KMSSO 2019
Don't know who will be the first person to see this, but thank you guys for a great season. I am proud of what you guys have accomplished this year. We take pride in being one of the hardest-working teams out there, and you all demonstrated this concept marvelously this year. I look forward to coaching you all in the future. If you are reading this before SOSI (July 15-19), please take a break.
