Madison West High School is a Division C school which qualified for the 2019 National competition at the Wisconsin 2019 state competition.

Madison West HS has an ongoing rivalry with Menomonie High School and Marquette University High School, as the three schools often battle for 1st place at the state tournament. Hamilton Middle School and parts of Eagle School of Madison are feeders to the school. The team has a strong history at state. The team is also a cohost of the Badger Invitational at Hamilton Middle School
