Since the beginning of Pennsylvania's history, Stroudsburg Junior High has been a force. They won the state championship in 1988 and placed fifth at nationals. After this, they continued to succeed even as Science Olympiad expanded, placing second seven times between 1990 and 1999. However, they continued to lose to state power [[State College Junior High School]]. Finally, in 2000, they were able to place first, and after a hiccup the next year, they made nationals the next five straight years. Of these, their best finish at nationals was ninth in 2003.

The next year, they failed to win regionals for the first time in recent memory, losing to [[Wyoming Area Middle School]]. They continued to be competitive at states, but were no longer a serious contender for nationals due to the rise of other schools. This period of time culminated in back-to-back championships for their rival, [[J.T. Lambert Intermediate School]]. Finally, in 2012 they were able to exorcise these demons and win regionals again for the first time since 2007. The team hopes that this ushers in a new time for success for Stroudsburg.

Era of Dominance

Since the beginning of Pennsylvania's history, Stroudsburg Junior High has been a force. They won the state championship in 1988 and placed fifth at nationals. After this, they continued to succeed even as Science Olympiad expanded, placing second seven times between 1990 and 1999. However, they continued to lose to state power State College Junior High School. Finally, in 2000, they were able to place first, and after a hiccup the next year, they made nationals the next five straight years. Of these, their best finish at nationals was ninth in 2003.

Fall from National Prominence

After this successful run, however, they failed to make nationals in 2007, placing 6th. The next year, they failed to win regionals for the first time in over a decade, losing to Wyoming Area Middle School. They continued to be competitive at states, but were no longer a serious contender for nationals due to the rise of other schools. This period of time culminated in back-to-back championships for their rival, J.T. Lambert Intermediate School. Finally, in 2012 they were able to exorcise these demons and win regionals again for the first time since 2007.

Merger with High School

In 2014, due to a lack of available coaches, the Stroudsburg Junior High team merged with Stroudsburg High School. Their final state competition saw them place highest since their final state championship in 2006.
