Syosset High School is a public high school in Syosset, New York that competes in Division C in the Western Long Island Division. It has been participating in Science Olympiad since 1986, when it qualified for the National Tournament and finished 20th. In more recent years, Syosset has become very motivated and is trying to score a place at Nationals.
The team has been steadily improving upon the prior years, beginning with a 20th place state finish in 2006 finishing with a 3rd place finish in 2012. Their steady improvement was broken by a 5th place, which means they will not attend the 2013 National Tournament. However, they have high hopes for next year and hope that they will make it to UCF.
